How to add an AI chatbot to your website, step by step

You need three things: a NochBot account, a website whose pages contain the information visitors ask about, and a place on your site where you can paste a script. If your pages show hours or prices only as images, add the same details as text first, because the assistant can only answer from text it can read.

WordPress: add the script to your theme footer file, or use a header and footer plugin so it survives theme updates. Shopify: edit the theme layout file and paste the script just before the closing body tag. Website builders such as Wix, Squarespace and Webflow: look for a custom code or embed area in the site settings. Some builders only allow custom scripts on paid plans, so check yours. Plain HTML sites: paste the line before the closing body tag of every page where the chat should appear.

First clear your browser cache and reload, because many hosts and plugins cache pages. Check that the script was saved on the page and that your user id is correct. If your site sends a Content Security Policy header, it must allow scripts from nochbot.space. Some ad blockers hide chat widgets, so test in a private window. Open the browser console: a blocked or failed script usually leaves a clear error message.

Watch the conversation history for a week. Questions the assistant could not answer show you which information is missing from your site. Add it to a page and run the crawl again. If you change prices or opening hours, re-crawl so the assistant stays accurate.
